Internationally reputed big pharma dissident who was found dead in December 2020

Brandy Vaughan was an activist best known for speaking out against the pharmaceutical industry and vaccines; founder of Learn The Risk, a vaccine awareness non-profit organization.[1] She worked for Merck between 2001-2004.

Merck Employment

She was initially a pharmaceutical employee who sold Vioxx, a painkiller medication sold by the company Merck[2]. It eventually came to light that Vioxx was found to double the risk of stroke and heart attacks in people.

The company Merck, knowingly continued to distribute the painkillers[3], knowing its prospective dangers. The medical journal Lancet estimates that 88,000 Americans had heart attacks from taking Vioxx, and 38,000 of them died[4]. Merck, eventually had to settle the biggest pharma lawsuit in history, to the tune of 4.85 billion dollars [5] to thousands of people.

Activities

After leaving her job, Brandy Vaughan lived in Europe for 8 years with her son.[6]

Disavowal of suicide

In December 2019, Brandy Vaughan explicitly stated that she would never commit suicide, stating "I’ve NEVER had any thoughts of taking my own life, not once, ever. Even before I had my son..."[7]

Sudden death

Vaughan was found dead by her son[8] on 7 December 2020. According to some webpages, she died from gallbladder complications.[9][10] Erin Elizabeth wrote on Dec. 8 that there will be an independent autopsy, Brandy did relate (see disturbing video below) that she was fearful for attacks on her life[11] and her house had been broken into several times.[12]
