Structural engineer reportedly behind the unprecedented and widely criticized decision to destroy most of the WTC steel evidence after 911.

Richard Tomasetti is a structural engineer. He was partner of Charles Thornton in Thornton Tomasetti until 2007, when he changed to advisor to its board of directors. [1]

Career

Tomasetti has 45 years of global experience as a structural engineer. His work includes a variety of major projects — from the design of the World Financial Center in New York City and Plaza 66 in Shanghai, China, toPittsburgh’s Mellon Bank building and Taipei 101 in Taiwan. [1]

He led New York City’s engineering support for search, rescue and cleanup following the World Trade Center disaster in 2001.[1]

He was reportedly behind the unprecedented and widely criticized decision to destroy most of the WTC steel evidence.[2]
