German law which criminalised holocaust denial, and other organisations and symbols. |
Section 86a of the German criminal code has been used to outlaw Nazi, Communist, and Islamic extremist symbols.[1] The law prohibits the distribution or public use of symbols of unconstitutional groups—in particular, flags, insignia, uniforms, slogans and forms of greeting.[2]
