---|---|
Responsible for higher education and research in Sweden. |
Not to be confused with the Sweden/Minister/Schools.
The Minister for Education (Swedish:utbildningsminister) is the education minister of Sweden and the head of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The minister of education is responsible for higher education and research, unlike the minister of schools who is responsible for pre-school, primary and secondary education, among others. The minister of education's closest associate is the politically appointed state secretary. In his capacity as head of department, the minister of education is also the head of the Minister of Higher Education and Research, who is also placed under the Ministry of Education.
