Henri J. Barkey is an adjunct senior fellow for Middle East studies at the Council on Foreign Relations.[1] He was the former Director of the Middle East Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (2015-2017).
He worked on the State Department Policy Planning Staff (1998-2000) working on the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and intelligence-related issues.
As of 2020, there was an arrest warrant for him in Turkey, for participation in the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt.[2]
