Elon Musk's degree
user:Adrianna So, Ron Ozio (Director, Media Relations at UPenn) says he does. Court documents that prove this are listed at the bottom of the page you're reading; "Elon Musk earned a B.A. in physics and a B.S. in economics (concentrations: finance and entrepreneurial management) from the University of Pennsylvania. The degrees were awarded on May 19, 1997." Furthermore, as I saw that you included the note "physics is not in general an arts degree". (It's even more popular as in the US, the general level is really low) A BA combines a broad liberal arts education with a substantial physics component, while the BS places more emphasis on physics, establishing a foundation for graduate study in physics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, plus tracks in traditional physics and applied physics.
- I don't know how knowledgeable you are about American Universities and their standards (I guess high as IT person, but don't take offence please). But it is possible to get a physics B.A degree, in fact, possible in the whole western world. In fact, even Ivy Schools only handed out general Physics as Arts degrees up until 10 years ago.. You only need a BSc if you won't be in a management position after your degree, but at that point most people would enrol in a speciality. There are dozens of spies, consultants and (ass)-directors at the UN, in governments and in important departments working with just a B.A in their field.
As for the question, did he lie about his disagrees? The date discrepancy is strange, but the lawsuit does say he got them, so, at best, the section of his page could be changed into "questions are still lingering whether his Uni was paid off to commit perjury". But... your source (Snopes) says... he does have a physics degree.... so.......I'm confused here. Therefore, I deleted your edit and rolled back to the previous version of the page. Please let me know if you still have questions or want to clarify your stance.
