The Minister of Sport leads the Ministry of Sports, the administration of the French government in charge of sports policy and sport in general. It has been under the supervision of different ministries since its creation in 1936, often being grouped together with Youth, Education or other more or less related areas, and could be either a full-fledged ministry or a secretariat of state attached to another ministry.
