The roles and functions of the Chair are[1]:
1)To lead the Egmont Group on all major issues, including the Egmont Group’s Strategic Plan,in consultation and co-ordination with the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units (HoFIU).
2)To build consensus within the Egmont Group. "Consensus” is defined as general agreement having noted and given due consideration to any formal and substantiated objection. "Given due consideration” means having resolved or addressed a substantiated objection.
