Coups
In 1987 two coups d'état, 14 May and then 28 September lead to the declaration of a Fijian republic. The Hanns Seidel Foundation was involved in these coups.[1] As a response, Australia, Fiji's largest foreign trading partner, refused to recognise the new government and launched a trade embargo. Frank Bainimarama lead another coup in 2006.
