He has a BA in Politics from the University of York and an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at the [[Centre d'etudes et recherches internationales]] (Sciences-Po) in Paris and a Joseph C. Fox Fellow at the [[Centre of International and Area Studies]] at Yale University. He has worked at the [[World Bank]], the [[European Commission]] and Catholic Relief Services.
