'''Lizards''' are a widespread group of reptiles found across all continents and most oceanic island chains. Lizards range in size from chameleons and geckos a few centimeters long to the 3 meter long Komodo dragon. Most lizards are quadrupedal, running with a strong side-to-side motion. Some lineages (known as "legless lizards"), have secondarily lost their legs, and have long snake-like bodies. Some such as the forest-dwelling Draco lizards are able to glide.

Lizards are a widespread group of reptiles found across all continents and most oceanic island chains.

Lizards are mainly carnivorous, often being sit-and-wait predators; many smaller species eat insects, while the Komodo eats mammals as big as water buffalo. Lizards make use of a variety of antipredator adaptations, including venom, camouflage, reflex bleeding, and the ability to sacrifice and regrow their tails.

"Real Origin of the Lizard People Conspiracy Theory" - The Infographics Show
This basically is what can make you a believer in Icke's theory, Michael Gunner of Australia telling the citizenry how to behave.[1][2]
To be perfectly fair though, some people get a stare like this from substances.

David Icke, with his theory that shapeshifting human-alien hybrids (commonly referred to as lizards, or reptilians[3][4]) are controlling the planet and it's development,[5][6][7] has popularized the idea of a widespread conspiracy for world domination linked to a force of evil that is not of this world.
