William Bortrick is a suspected UK deep state operative. He was listed as a senior fellow of the Institute for Statecraft website on 25 November 2018,[1] but his name had been removed by 10 January 2019[2]. His specialty was listed as "Diplomatic and Strategic Relations".[1]

In 2021 Bortrick was a paid advisor to Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz. In May 2014 he drafted a letter which claimed that Charles Windsor was "100% behind" a cash for citizenship and CBE case. Ater this was published by The Times in 2021, Michael Fawcett's resigned as Windsor's fixer.[4]
