Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website, which rewards its users with the cryptocurrency STEEM for publishing and curating content.
Censorship
Steemit censored The Dark Overlord in January 2019, just after Reddit. Posts blocked by Steemit from any user on the Steem blockchain can be accessed via Busy.org, which is another webportal for accessing the blockchain.[1]
In 2020 Steemit censored posts about Hive, a hard blockchain that was forked from steem.[2] It appears, that what longtime users of the steem blockchain describe as a hostile takeover by Justin Sun, will bring deletion and automated content filtering to the chain.[3]
