Andrew Russell 'Drew' Pearson was an American columnist, noted for his syndicated newspaper column "Washington Merry-Go-Round", which often had inside information of the goings on in Washington.

Chalmers Roberts of the Washington Post wrote “Drew Pearson was a muckraker with a Quaker conscience. In print he sounded fierce; in life he was gentle, even courtly. For thirty-eight years he did more than any man to keep the national capital honest."”[citation needed]
