National and international rankings show Tsinghua University as the leading technical and scientific university in China by a wide margin - and together with Peking University as one of the two best universities in the country.[1]
The university is located in the north-west of Beijing's Haidian district and is directly adjacent to Peking University. The international name spelling Tsinghua officially used by the university to this day dates from before the introduction of pinyin.
