The Internet of things is a technology which is gradually emerging and objects that are IoT enabled do communicate with the internet and with other such objects. Multiple different standards and issues of security/privacy are making it much talked about but currently not very operational; but cyber criminals are exploring the technology for their ends on a larger scale already.[1][2][3][4][5] Manufacturers as of 2020 focus on functionality that can be offered to the consumer, security is neglected since it is seen as an additional cost factor only, with no benefit for sales.[6]
