I am a retired law enforcement officer, as well as an Army National Guard officer. In my career as a police officer I worked in Patrol, Organized Crime, Narcotics, Criminal Investigations, Administrative Services, and Research, Plans, and Training. I served 17 years as a SWAT officer in various roles, graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, graduated from the FBI National Academy, and hold specialized certifications in adult learning and specialized training. I am a graduate of the University of Evansville with a B.S. in Political Science, and am currently enrolled in a graduate program in national security.
During my 31 years in the military, I served as an Armored Cavalry Scout, was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Officer Candidate School, then graduated from the Armor Officers' Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff Course, and the Tactical Commanders' Proficiency Course. I was deployed to Germany three different times, then deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait, and Baghdad,Iraq. I was injured in combat in Iraq and I am now 100% disabled as a result of my wounds.
I am married and we have six children. I live in a medium sized Midwestern city and spend my time following foreign affairs, politics, Islamic terrorism, and the American Civil War.
