Stress is generally considered an unhealthy and disabling influence. It has been called an "epidemic" in modern society.
It is exacerbated by social control policies such as the strategy of tension.
Modern extremes
The Telegraph reported in 2018 that UK schools are removing analogue clocks from exam halls as teenagers find that telling the time with a traditional clock is a cause of unnecessary stress.[1]
