Criminality
Multiple IMF Managing Directors have been criminally charged. Rodrigo de Rato Figaredo was convicted of embezzlement; Christine Lagarde was convicted of negligence (although the judge did not impose a penalty).[1]
Deep events
In February 2011, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the IMF, called for an end to the petrodollar system, mooting a new world currency to challenge the dominance of the US dollar. He was forced out of his role at the IMF amidst accusations of sexual assault a few months later.[2]
