Big Airport in the United States which has several "conspiracy theories" connected to it. |
Denver International Airport (IATA: DEN, ICAO: KDEN), locally known as DIA, is an international airport in the Western United States. It is the largest airport in North America by land area and the second largest in the world, behind King Fahd International Airport.
The Denver Airport conspiracy theories started when the facility was under construction. Billions over budget and an entire year behind schedule, some became convinced that DEN’s delayed 1995 opening was caused by something more nefarious than the usual difficulties facing large public works projects.[1]
DIA has used the theories for marketing, once writing:[2][3][4]
"Are we creating the world’s greatest airport, or preparing for the end of the world?"
Satanic imagery

The airport is decorated with strange statues and imagery.[7][8][9]
Other
In 2020 the airport hosted a sculpture that reminded people of the coronavirus.[10]
Giant tunnel/bunker network
A deep underground military facility, part of the Continuity of Government (COG) program, may exists on the site. This massive underground city would be used by the government in the event that Washington or other central governments command hubs are compromised. The underground city that lies beneath the airport possibly connects to other deep underground military installations throughout the country.[11]
One hundred and ten million cubic yards /yd³ (~84,100,000 cubic meter /m³) of earth were moved during the building of the project; this is equivalent to one third the amount of earth moved in building the Panama Canal. The suspected underground installation may have a size of 300,000 ft² (27,870 m²) or more.[12]
