Dame Amelia Chilcott Fawcett DBE CVO is a United States-born British Chairman of the Standards Board for Alternative Investments in London, Chairman of Investment AB Kinnevik in Stockholm, Chairman of Vedere SARL in Luxembourg, a Non-Executive Director of State Street Corporation in Boston, and a Non-Executive Member of Her Majesty’s Treasury Board.
She is a former banking executive for Morgan Stanley, where she worked for 20 years. Other prior posts include non-executive director (from 2007), and Non-Executive Director of Millicom International Cellular SA (2015–2016).
She was chairman (2009–2013) for the British multimedia business Guardian Media Group plc, running the the Guardian, the Observer and other media assets.
She is currently one of the governors of the Wellcome Trust.
She is a confidante of Prince Charles and chairman of The Prince of Wales's Charitable Foundation.[1] In 2010 she was awarded a DBE (Dame Commander of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the financial services industry. In July 2013 she was appointed the first Lady Usher of the Purple Rod.[2]
