Born in Jacksonville, Florida the only son of Fort White, Florida native Leah LaVerne McCormick and Illinoisan Paul Andrew Welge, both deceased. B.S. in Religious Studies w/ Asian Emphasis from Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Va. 5/77.
