DONETSK (Rostov Region), August 23 (RIA Novosti) – The last group of trucks, that have delivered Russian humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine, returned to Russia on Saturday afternoon, according to RIA Novosti reporter. The humanitarian aid convoy, escorted by local militia, left Ukraine’s eastern city of Luhansk earlier in the day and reached the Russian town of Donetsk in Rostov Region.
On Friday, a Russian convoy with humanitarian aid crossed the border with Ukraine and delivered the cargo to Luhansk, the city sieged by the Ukrainian army and struggling daily without regular food supplies, water and electricity.
Luhansk People's Republic authorities said that distribution of Russian humanitarian aid is due to start Saturday, adding that Luhansk residents hope for more assistance from Russia.
