Chirwa is named on the RUSI website, which reported as of December 2023 that he "is Executive Director of the Centre for Peace and Security Management in Lilongwe, Malawi. He was previously a Senior Policy Analyst in the Office of the Vice-President of Malawi. He served in the Malawi Defence Force from 1975 to 2008, finishing as Director of Personnel."[1]
