The Committee on Standards in Public Life (CSPL) is an advisory non-departmental public body of the UK government, established in 1994 to advise the Prime Minister on ethical standards of public life. The CSPL promotes a code of conduct called the Seven Principles of Public Life, also known as the Nolan principles after the first chairman of the committee, Lord Nolan.[1]

Membership

Membership of the Committee with effect from 1 August 2021 is Lord Evans of Weardale KCB DL (Chair), The Rt Hon Dame Margaret Beckett DBE MP (Lab), Ewen Fergusson, Dr Jane Martin CBE, Dame Shirley Pearce DBE, Professor Gillian Peele, The Rt Hon Lord Andrew Stunell CBE (Lib Dem) and The Rt Hon Jeremy Wright QC MP (Con).[2]
