Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, UCSG, is a private, catholic, higher education center, along with Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador in Ecuador.
History
The college was founded on May 17, 1962 by César Antonio Mosquera Corral, Archbishop of Guayaquil. The Jesuit Father Joaquín Flor Vásconez SJ was the founding rector. The foundation was supported by the President of Ecuador Carlos Julio Arosemena Monroy as well as Cardinal Richard Cushing and Cardinal Julius Döpfner.

The Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil is ranked as the leading university in Ecuador. More than 40 courses of study are offered at 9 faculties; Students from all over the world can enroll in an extensive postgraduate training program with an affiliated distance learning center.
