Extraneous tags in WpURL when pahe previewed or confirmed

I'm confident the problem is with the form not the template. It has to do with the way Mediawiki interprets and text beginning with "http(s)//". I've tried putting 'nowiki' tags and quotes around the field value with interesting results but not what is required. All reverted and thinking cap back on. --Peter P (talk) 09:47, 14 May 2013 (IST)
