Founded in 2002, TSG is built upon professional and academic terrorism research experience since 1988. TSG members hold advanced degrees in policy, strategy, security, and law and draw expertise from the research community, private sector, and government service.
In 2003, TSG cemented its relationship with the Terrorism Research Center, Inc. (TRC) of northern Virginia. TSG President, James T. Kirkhope, joined TRC as Vice President for Research, Development, and Planning and is responsible for coordinating a broad array of research projects ranging from specific terrorism threats and counterterrorism policy strategies to wider academic debates in low-intensity/asymmetric conflict and homeland security.[1]
