Balenciaga is a Spanish luxury fashion house currently owned by the French corporation Kering.[1][2]
Scandal
In November 2022, an advertising campaign posted on Balenciaga's Instagram account featured children holding teddy bears dressed in bondage and BDSM gear. The ads contained several hidden references to child abuse.[3] After the references were discovered by independent journalists and even corporate media, the ads were deleted and an apology was made.[4]
Criticism
Streamer Brittany Ventis video on TikTok talking about the scandal got over 3 million views.[5]
A lot of dark symbology and innuendo was found on the social media accounts of people that are connected to the company.[6]
