The International Press Institute was strongly suspected of being a CIA front.[1] [2]

The foundation of the Institute was financed by a $150,000 grant from the Ford Foundation and a $120,000 grant for the Rockefeller Foundation that helped keep the organization afloat for the first three years. [3] Both the Ford Foundation and the the Rockefeller Foundation are known CIA cutouts, especially during the early Cold War.
