Giulio Regeni was an Italian University of Cambridge graduate. While creating contacts with Egypt's "independent" trade unions, presumably on behalf of MI6, he was abducted and tortured to death by the security services in Egypt.
The story is told in the documentary The Story of Giulio Regeni (2021).
