Career
In 1946 Hecksher became head of the OSS' counter-intelligence section in Berlin where he worked with Theodore Shackley, David Sanchez Morales and William Harvey.
As CIA Station chief in Santiago, Chile, in 1973, he is believed by some[Who?] to have been involved in the Chile/1973 coup d'état.
