:My reading of the SMW help page is that a Boolean can be used in a query to display the results of, for example, a particular field having a non-blank value or other comparator being true/false; but I can't see how it can be used in the manner envisaged in the JKF Assassination page. See [[Property:Constitutes]] for a completely new way of representing this - and one that I think has potential to allow rich semantic expression ''without'' needing many more properties being defined. I just made the page [[Lone Nut]], which might obiviate the need for a special property about lone-nuttiness. For example, the "Lee_Harvey_Oswald Is lone-nut" could be represented by <nowiki>[[Constitutes::Lone Nut]]</nowiki> on the [[Lee_Harvey_Oswald]] page. Use of type Boolean

This type cannot be applied in the way assumed by current use of this property. The SMW help page does not clarify its use in wikitext make up either. --Peter P (talk) 07:18, 20 December 2013 (GMT)

My reading of the SMW help page is that a Boolean can be used in a query to display the results of, for example, a particular field having a non-blank value or other comparator being true/false; but I can't see how it can be used in the manner envisaged in the JKF Assassination page. I've changed it back to type page for now --Peter P (talk) 09:58, 20 December 2013 (GMT)
The thinking is, it could be used to make triples (X is lone-nut FALSE) and (X is lone-nut TRUE), for expressing different opinions/contingent theories. c.f https://semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Property:Is_master_page. But that is still longer term planning. For now, the easier task of working with metadata to integrate the document collection with the wikipages, seems like a good way to learn the SMW basics. Basically replacing the rough and ready category system with something more functional. Robin (talk) 04:35, 22 December 2013 (GMT)

An alternative

See Property:Constitutes for a completely new way of representing this - and one that I think has potential to allow rich semantic expression without needing many more properties being defined. I just made the page Lone Nut, which might obiviate the need for a special property about lone-nuttiness. For example, the "Lee_Harvey_Oswald Is lone-nut" could be represented by [[Constitutes::Lone Nut]] on the Lee_Harvey_Oswald page. Robin (talk) 19:52, 23 December 2013 (GMT)
