R. Kelly is an American musician. In 2019, he was arrested for human trafficking. On 18 August 2021, his sexual abuse trial began.[1]
He was allegedly married to Aaliyah when she was still a child. A former tour manager testified in August 2021 that he bribed a government worker in 1994 to obtain a fake ID for then 15-year-old Aaliyah - so the singers could marry.[2]
On 28 September 2021, he was found guilty. Sentencing is due on 4 May 2022.[3]
