A low-level deep event, as defined by Peter Dale Scott, is a crime with limited intent and importance which is often only dimly understood, even with hindsight. Examples include the stealing of personal data or falsification of documents, as part of a deep political campaigns. Outsiders lack the proper context in which to understand these crimes, even if they hear about them, so commercially-controlled media silence is usually all that is required. As a consequence, these are not well represented here.
As cover-up techniques
Sometimes the efforts to cover-up mid-level deep events lead to low-level deep events. For example, the RFK Assassination cover-up involved the removal of Thane Eugene Cesar's clip-on tie from the hand of the dying RFK, as later became evident to researchers.[When?][Who?][citation needed]
