Major Problems
FI: I've spent a lot of time trying to get the timeline facility working properly but major issues remain. The most obvious problem is that the format fails to display all the qualifying events, with no criteria that I can find to predict which events are omitted. changing the sort order, omitting sort order, changing 'timelinposition' value, changing 'limit'; - ALL impact on both number and selection of of events but in an unpredictable and erratic fashion. I have lots of feelers out about these issues, plus various desirable modifications. The problem is that the Format is currently unmaintained and its difficult to get anyone at SMW interested. It's a pity because I have timeline data on David Kelly almost ready to import and there are a number of other obvious candidates too. --Peter P (talk) 14:58, 7 November 2013 (GMT)
- It is not page caching; that has been disabled for the page. Neither is it a jobs queue backlog. I suspect is has something to do with the new resource loader mechanism but am not sure and in any case have no idea how to tweek its operation --Peter P (talk) 19:13, 7 November 2013 (GMT)
- Yippeee!! - Got it! - On no account must the carriage return character appear in the 'description field. Problem solved. Further development now seems justified
