John Stuart Mill usually cited as J. S. Mill, was an English philosopher, political economist, and civil servant.
Most known for his liberal philosophy, Mill was also a Clerk to the Secret Committee of the East India Company [1] and actively involved in running the colonisation of India and the enforced opening of China to opium sales.
