Archive.today
Archive.today (formerly archive.is) is an archive site which stores snapshots of web pages. It acts as an agent for a user command, thus is able to create an archive for a single page; robots.txt therefore is ignored. The archive of the page is currently rendered by an adaption of the Chrome browser. Features/limitations:
- websites smaller than 50MB (per each page)
- no videos or PDF's (PDF can be archived when archived from the Google cache, however)
- at times can create a readable page when Archive.org fails
- safes one complete HTML copy, and one screenshot of the upper area of a page
It is not know who operates the site and what kind of funding they have. The service has been reliable throughout the years. On it's blog site archive.today answers questions related to the project, archiving, and support requests.
Domains
Archive.today has constant problems with domain providers and is therefore operating with several top-level-domains (currently: archive.today, archive.is, archive.ph, archive.vn, archive.fo, archive.li, archive.md, archivecaslytosk.onion).
