Charlotte Rose is one of two Independent candidates at the Clacton by-election on 9 October 2014. On Twitter, she describes herself thus:
- I am a sex worker and sexual trainer. I am so passionate about what I do I want to help others to enjoy better sex with sex advice."

When nominations closed on 16 September 2014, Charlotte Rose was listed among eight official candidates at the by-election.[1]
Sex worker
Challenged on Twitter as to whether she was the #IndependentSexWorker in the Clacton by-election, Charlotte Rose replied:

High-class courtesan
Charlotte Rose, 34, who lives in London, calls herself a "high-class courtesan" and charges £180 an hour for her services. She previously appeared in a Channel 4 TV series about prostitution called "Love For Sale", which starred Rupert Everett and Russell Brand:
- "My main policy is about sexual freedom – taking control away from others. I also want there to be better sexual education in schools. Today’s politicians have a lack of knowledge and understanding about what’s really happening."[3]
