Dear Mr. Changlin and Nomination Committee,
The Confucius Peace Prize is an important endeavour and we wish to support its success by nominating a worthy individual. It is our belief that Mr. Kevin Mugur Galalae embodies the most cherished principles of Confucianism and represents a new generation of internationally-minded peace proponents and human rights activists who need to be recognised. China has been under relentless criticism from the West for violating human rights and civil liberties and most recently has been upbraided for arresting Ai Weiwei and for not allowing Mr. Liu Xiaobo, who won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize, to attend the ceremony. Yet, while the West awards the Nobel Prize to a Chinese citizen for demanding political reform, human rights guarantees and an independent judicial system, it has gagged and imprisoned Mr. Galalae for demanding the same from western nations.
The West is quick to criticise China but is blind to its own human rights violations, which is a hypocritical stance. Mr. Galalae has exposed human rights violations throughout the western world and has as a result been the target of vicious attacks by British and Canadian secret service agencies. He has suffered greatly. He has been arrested, separated from his children and deprived of his writings and property by vindictive western authorities bent on covering up the demise of democracy in the western world and the ascendance of a corporate regime of profiteers who exploit the world‟s people without regard for consequences and human suffering.
It is time the West looks in the mirror and recognizes its own shortcomings before lecturing other nations about human rights and civil liberties.
Mr. Galalae is in our opinion one of the most important human rights activist in the world today and is yet to be recognised for his achievements and for making great personal sacrifices for world peace and goodwill among nations. His nomination will bring prestige to the Confucius Peace Prize and will in turn assist Mr. Galalae in breaking through the wall of silence that the West has built in order to hide its human rights violations, demise of democracy, and departure from the rule of law. I hope you will consider Mr. Galalae for the Confucius Peace Prize.
