National Association of Manufacturers
The John Birch Society (JBS) had significant ties to the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The founder of the John Birch Society,Robert Welch, was Vice President in NAM. Other NAM Presidents and Vice Presidents that were in the leadership of JBS includes paper and pulp executive Cola Parker, foundry millionaire F. Gano Chance, Southern States Industrial Council leader Martin J. Connor III and E.G. Swiggert.[1]
