SMW data refresh procedure revealed 9 pages with invalid server ID index entries. The Imaging problems below are likely caused by this rather than the Umlaut character.

Image resizing issue
Errors reported on some existing images - both on the page using the image and it's 'File' page. It is an 'ImageMagick' issue but brief research has so far failed to find a solution. It affects some 'jpg' images which come in a multitude of sub-formats. There is probably an additional library required. No need to edit offending pages. We should be able to fix it --Peter P (talk) 17:56, 16 January 2014 (GMT)

9 pages with invalid server index entries
The Image resizing issue is part and parcel of something bigger. Uploads throw a fatal exception error - probably php. I'll try to get it fixed tomorrow --Peter P (talk) 19:22, 16 January 2014 (GMT)

SMW data refresh procedure revealed 9 pages with invalid server ID index entries. The earlier imaging problems are likely caused by this rather than the Umlaut character. Still no response from techies about how to identify which page/entity the offending index ID numbers refer to. I've had a root around with phpMyAdmin but the potential for causing serious damage is too great for much of that. It does not seem to causing any additional problems so no longer a priority --Peter P (talk) 08:14, 18 January 2014 (GMT)
