That would be a long discussion. Noam insisted that Ed's name be listed first on Manufacturing Consent's cover, for the reason you state.  Yes, Ed was more of a media analyst than Noam was/is, but Ed was also adamant that Noam was not just some celebrity co-author, riding on Ed's work. Their writing partnership is easily one of the most important in American history.  It was an honor to interact with them.
