Marcell Rene “Gooch” Gough was killed in the Congo during the "Congo Crisis" while serving with the CIA. Rene worked closely with fellow Navy SEAL Jim Hawes [1] and were good friends. The CIA finally confirmed Rene was working for the CIA when he died many years later. His son received a phone call from the CIA Director John Brennan to confirm that his father was CIA and would be the recipient of the 84th star on the CIA Wall of Honor[2].
