So putting his name in the VIPaedophile article is the correct way to do it? And a shorthand link to the article with "interest"? Terje (talk) 00:42, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

VIPaedophile link

Looking at VIPaedophile#Examples, I see a list of examples of VIPaedophile (events) mixed up with involved people (both the trappers and the trapped). This unclarity is the heart of the problem, and why human written text is a better way to explain relationships than to overload a Property.

Some editors use |interests to mean "involved in", but I don't because it is too distinct from the original meaning I had ~ "is a subject of interest of", so it would be applicable to VIPaedophile researchers, for example. I'm not averse, in general, to editors using the properties in ways I hadn't anticipated, but using |constitutes in this way leads to an unhelpful lack of clarity. The intended meaning is "is" as in "is an example of" or "makes up".

So yes, making a link in the text is currently the only way to do it, although this is invisible to the SMW. Note that I first made the Sexual blackmailer page because of overcrowding of the Sexual blackmail page. I'm deliberately trying to slow the creation of properties to keep the choice less daunting to new editors and to facilitate automated reasoning. Seeing ambiguity in the "Sexual blackmail#examples" section was a good sign that Sexual blackmailer (then a redirect) might be fruitfully turned into a page in its own right, allowing the SMW to separate two quite distinct things:- the events from those who carried them out. -- Robin (talk) 04:19, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
