DescriptionThe murder of 26 tourists by five armed men

The 2025 Pahalgam attack was an attack on tourists by five armed men near Pahalgam in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 civilians on 22 April 2025. The majority of the victims were Hindus, apparently singled out for that reason. The attack took place at the tourist spot in Baisaran Valley and is considered the deadliest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.[1]

On 6 May 2025, Zarah Sultana posted on X:

"I condemn the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam — but no conclusive evidence has been presented linking Pakistan.
"India’s unprovoked strike on Pakistan is a violation of international law.[2]
"With both being nuclear powers, this is reckless and a grave threat to regional peace."[3]
