2008 Panel Discussion

As part of the consultancy for EU, she participated in a 2008 panel discussion on the Turkey-EU agenda.[2]

In the meeting, Göğüş touched upon the issues "that the government had not an EU strategy yet and it was also late for formation of 2008 Plan. She emphasized the significance of the coordination between the NGOs and the state and according to her; the aim of this strategy had to be not only political but also advertorial."[2]

She also discussed a survey of 1000 Turkish journalists. According to the results of this survey, 24% of these journalists thought that Turkey would never be a member state of the EU. Göğüş emphasized the importance of this result and suggested to work on those people. According to the research, 3% of the journalists thought that Turkey would be a member state after 2028 and 73% of them thought that Turkey would be a member state between the years 2012-2027.[2]
