Yusuf Desai was a senior fellow of the Institute for Statecraft whose specialist area was listed as "Societal Integration, Ethnic Communities; Youth Engagement". The IfS website stated on December 2018 that he was directing an Ifs program entitled A Common Future: Dialogue and Education for Societal Integration and Leadership which "develops constructive engagement between British Muslims and wider British society through the establishment of a multi-purpose education programme devoted to enhancing dialogue and understanding between the British Muslim community and mainstream society".
