Pages in the Document namespace (i.e. with names which begin "Document:") are finished pieces of work and so two special rules apply.

1. Use Template:DocProv

Although it is not featured in some older documents, the template:DocProv template should be used at the top of all new items in the document namespace. It provides a convenient way to list all the editable items (i.e. the metadata such as the author, source, date and so on).

2. No Content Editing

Unlike other namespaces, where page editing is encouraged, content of pages in the 'document:' namespace should not be changed, since they are finished pieces of work by the author(s) credited in the DocProv template. Page formatting improvements (such as wikifying links) is acceptable, as is the fixing of typos, but no other edits are acceptable; the authenticity of source documents must be preserved.
