These are the known WEF/Young Global Leaders for 2008[1] The WEF doesn't always publish all the names of the candidates. The previous year's cadre is listed as WEF/Young Global Leaders 2007, the following as WEF/Young Global Leaders 2009.

Rory Stewart, named as MI6, was Chair of the very important international deep state/intelligence group Le Cercle from 2013-2015.
- Kirill Androsov 2008-2010 Deputy chief of staff to then (Prime Minister) Vladimir Putin[2]. Since 2015 managing partner of Altera Capital, a Moscow-based investment firm.
- Susan Athey is the Economics of Technology Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
- Yannick Bolloré son of French media tycoon Vincent Bolloré who himself participated in 1993.
- Thomas Buberl is a money manager who attended the 2017 and 2019 Bilderbergs
- Ellana Lee is Senior Vice President & Managing Editor, Asia Pacific, for CNN International.
- Mark Leonard founded the European Council on Foreign Relations on behalf of George Soros.
- Rory Stewart, named as MI6, was Chair of the international deep state/intelligence group Le Cercle from 2013-2015.
- Nikolay Pryanishnikov President of Microsoft Russia until circa 2015.
